What an utterly pointless initiative. Carbon removal is at best a long term prospect, and we do kot have time for it when that investment could have been directed elsewhere.
Heat pumps, residential solar, local electricity and heat storage, public transit inprovements, getting cars off the road and necessary transport electrified, nature recovery and restoration projects, mandatory heat recycling for heat-intensive industries through district heating, these would all have much greater effect both in terms of climate mitigation and job creation than the petroleum industry’s favourite pie-in-the-sky means of continuing current emissions activities.
